The Pyramid Lepsius Number One at Abu Rowash

Abu Rawash only a few kilometers to the north of Giza, one of the most famous archaeological sites in ancient Egypt, but rarely visited, because there are in fact very little to do. Most of the effects built there in utter ruin. The most famous of these is the pyramid which was built by the king of 4th dynasty Djedefre (Radjedef). So perhaps the ruins of the second most important is that the structure of the issuance of Lepsius thought it was in the form of a pyramid. The northern part of the ruins of the pyramid discovered at that time, has been named number one. This is a structure built of brick in the hills of the eastern hills. This structure was discovered by c. PERRING in the 1830s, and has also been investigated by Vyse, which fortunately did not explode. Later, Bisson de la ROQUE as well as a brief discussion of the structure, but the work is the most modern and comprehensive apparently made by Nabil Swelim, archaeologist from Egypt in mid-1980.
Seems that there is still some debate about whether this is really a pyramid, and if so, who built it. Werner does not seem entirely sure that's not even a pyramid, while the liner is referred to as a hierarchical structure, which seems to think it was possible to step pyramid of the province, like others scattered to the south of Philly. County pyramids are smaller, stepped pyramid that is generally not believed to be built in the graves.

However, many of the pyramids and the province seems to be little infrastructure or non-existent, and the number 1 Lepsius no. While some still appeared to questions about his status as a pyramid, and the majority opinion among Egyptologists that today the most likely is, in fact, at least it should be.
Swelim Given that all rights should be more aware of the structure, was in fact a huge stepped pyramid of bricks, with nearly a quarter of its form the nucleus by the occurrence of rocks. Of course, this makes the structure stronger and faster and cheaper to manufacture. Swelim dates the end of the dynasty 3rd, and considers it likely to be on the instructions of Honey.

However, Werner bring a series of arguments against the results of Swelim. For starters, notes that the structure is on the other side of the Nile flood zone and not in an elevated position, such as the Pyramids and many others. Moreover, Werner tells us that there are at least thirty carved in the rock, the graves of strains 5 and 6 and alveolar in this outcrop Swelim I think that was incorporated into the structures. If the structure was built at the end of Dynasty 3rd, Werner is still skeptical that it would have been destroyed at the end of 4th Dynasty tombs to be constructed on the bump to be used as part of the core. It is also noted that Adobe was rare materials used in the actual pyramid, a descendant of 3 or 4. May, however, ruled out East Saudi dates are at the heart of the cuttings (this sub-type of structure is no longer fashionable, and at the end of the fourth dynasty), despite the fact that the pyramids were built of mud brick was. Naturally, the graves were built in the bulge suggest, however, could be higher then thought, instead of new.
However, many if not most Egyptologists seem to think is the pyramid of either belong to the Honey, or perhaps another king named Neferkare.
In building a pyramid of bricks placed on a rocky core and the rest, bent 75-76 degrees inside the layers of sediments. In fact, the use of lump if not unique of its kind. For example, we also find a similar structure in the pyramid of Sesostris II, along with the other kings
. When discovered, the majority of brick stripped of his post, but it is estimated that the length of the pyramid's base about 215 meters. In theory, it should be at a height of between 107 and 150 meters, but when it was discovered, and a pile of rubble, only about 20 feet. Within the structure of the rock outcrop (core) has been infiltrated by the north of a row of 25 degree incline to the south before communicating with a square chamber burial.
Inside the pyramid, and the burial chamber has been established pursuant to the vertical axis in the pyramid, aswascustomary.

Monument Abu Rawash brick, which would have been similar in size to the Aryan Zawiyet pyramid is not complete (Neferkare, Nebk).
