Library consists of the following sections:
- The Library: It is equipped to serve the needs of the average reader as well as researchers alike, have been distributed collections of books on seven levels, beginning with the end of the roots of knowledge and modern technology.
- Taha Hussein Library (for the blind and visually impaired): interested in providing all the resources available in the library within the reach of the blind and visually impaired and by means of a special program that converts written material that appears on the screen to speech or Braille. - Young People's Library: a specialized library for young people between the ages of 12 - 18 years, and aims to rehabilitate young people and training of reading and research so that each of them able to use all the services and facilities in the main library until the age of 18 years.
- Children's Library: It is for children between the ages of 6-12 years, and aims to encourage children to read and research methods, and is also designed to prepare children to use the main library in the future with all its services and capabilities.
- Multimedia Library: The Multimedia Library a key element in the library of Alexandria as it contains a selection of audio and video CD-ROM (CD / DVD) in addition to cassette tapes and video tapes, CDs and slides and photos that cover all cultural purposes, in addition to books and periodicals in the field of music, film, theater and photography.
- On microfilm Shelves: Shelves to provide microfilm opportunity for researchers to see the number of manuscripts and various documents to the Egyptian daily newspapers since the date of issuance, as well as several books available in the form of microfilm.
- Shelves on the manuscripts: Hall with access to manuscripts collection of rare manuscripts owned by the Library of Alexandria, a manuscript of a mismatch of different languages Arabic, Turkish and Persian.
- Shelves on rare books: Hall with access to books rare rare collection of books owned by the Library of Alexandria, which had been printed before 1920 in addition to a number of books GIFT and copies of rare books and limited editions.
