Elephantine Island (Museum of Aswan)
Is located in the eastern part of the island of Elephantine. An island full of important effects, including temples consecrated to the god Khnum island.
The museum building was established in 1902 as the headquarters of the chief architect of the Aswan Reservoir. Due date of establishment of the museum in 1917 to include the effects of the Nuba region has been found before the establishment of the Aswan Reservoir and those found after that and also raised the island of Elephantine.
The museum houses some of the statues of kings and individuals and some of the mummies ram code Deus Khnum and different types of pottery, and decorative architectural elements and a number of coffins and instruments of daily life and some funerary paintings. In recent years, the German mission which is exploring in collaboration with the Elephantine Supreme Council of Antiquities to establish an extension of the old museum is located to the north and includes some of the effects found by the Mission during the Hvairha held for many years on the island.
